What is a marina?

A marina is a specially designed facility for docking and storing boats. Marinas often offer a range of services for boat owners, including boat storage, docking facilities, boat maintenance and repair services, fueling stations, and sometimes even restaurants and other amenities for boaters.

Marinas are typically located in harbors, on rivers, or near bodies of water that are popular for boating and other water activities. They are used by recreational boaters, as well as commercial boat owners and fishermen.

Marinas can vary in size and capacity, from small privately owned marinas with just a few boat slips, to large, full-service marinas with hundreds of boat slips, large boat storage facilities, and multiple amenities for boaters.

Some marinas also offer services such as boat rentals, sailing lessons, and organized boating events and competitions. Many marinas are managed by local or state governments, while others are privately owned and operated.
